While Dr Niels does the dentistry, your sedation is in the hands of Fully Qualified Medical Anaesthetists, with dedicated nurses provided by Dormir Group Surgical Centre, the day surgery in Chermside that Dr Niels operates out of. It complies with ANZCA guidelines and standards.

Dr Niels Kirsten is the Sole Owner and Founder of Brisbane Sedation Dentistry Pty Ltd, and he is a Visiting Dental Surgeon who consults and operates at Dormir Group Surgical Centre.

Dr Niels grew up around dentistry, with a father who spent his career as a dentist, and has built his own around a simple idea: the way treatment is delivered matters as much as the treatment itself.
He completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery at James Cook University in 2015, then spent his early career where he was needed most, in Queensland’s public dental system in Townsville and on Palm Island, and in private practice in regional Queensland from 2016. That mix means he’s seen every kind of mouth and every kind of patient, and nothing you bring in will be a first.
In 2019 he added a Diploma of Implantology at James Cook University, and implant dentistry and practical oral surgery have been his focus since. Today he leads Brisbane Sedation Dentistry, Consulting and Operating at Dormir Group Surgical Centre in Chermside, where every procedure he performs happens with a Medical Anaesthetist alongside him.
