Not sure where to start? Three quick questions

Answer these and we'll point you to the option that usually fits best. It's a starting point, not a commitment, and you can always talk it through with us.

1Do you have extras cover with major dental?

2Would you rather not take on a loan?

3How soon would you like treatment?

Your starting point

Answer the questions above and we'll suggest where to start.

There's no wrong answer here. Every option below is one our patients use.

Health fund

Good if you have extras cover

  • May pay towards part of the cost
  • We can often claim on the day
  • Medicare may rebate part of the sedation fee
How it works

Super access

Good if you'd rather not borrow

  • Uses your own super, if eligible
  • SuperCare helps with the paperwork
How it works

MediPay

Good for larger treatment

  • Made for medical and dental costs
  • Paid straight to the clinic
How it works

You can combine options too. Many people use their Medicare and health fund rebates first, then one of the other options for the rest. Approval, fees and terms apply to payment plans.

Health funds

Your extras cover may chip in

If you have extras cover with major dental, your fund may pay towards part of your treatment. It rarely covers everything, but it can take a real bite out of the cost.

  1. Ask us for your item numbers

Every treatment has standard dental item numbers. We'll give you yours at your consultation, along with your written quote.

  2. Check with your fund

One quick call or an online quote with those item numbers tells you exactly what your fund will give back. The checklist here makes it easy.

  3. We claim on the day where we can

In many cases we can process your claim at the clinic, so you only pay the gap rather than the full amount up front.

A note on Medicare. Medicare doesn't cover implants or the dental work itself, but if you have Medicare you may get a rebate on part of your sedation fee. We'll give you the item numbers so you can check exactly what you'll get back.

Super access

Using your super, without the paperwork headache

If you're eligible, you may be able to release some of your super early to pay for dental treatment. It's your own money rather than a loan, and SuperCare manages the application from start to finish.

Start here

Could this be an option for you?

  • You have super savings you'd rather use than take on a loan
  • Your treatment is one a dentist says you need, with a written quote to match
  • You're happy to wait a few weeks for the approval to come through

Not sure if you qualify? Super is released on what the ATO calls compassionate grounds, and the rules are specific. SuperCare checks your eligibility before anything is lodged, so you'll know where you stand early.

Step by step

How it works, start to finish

  1. Your consultation and written quote

Dr Niels confirms what you need and you leave with a fixed quote. That quote is what the application is built on.

  2. SuperCare checks your eligibility

    Quick

A short check before anything is lodged, so there are no wasted applications.

  3. The application goes to the ATO

    SuperCare handles it

SuperCare prepares the paperwork with the medical reports and your quote, and lodges it for you.

  4. Approval and release of funds

    Usually a few weeks

Once the ATO approves it, your super fund releases the money. This wait is why it pays to start early.

  5. Your treatment goes ahead

With the funds through, we book your treatment day. Nothing happens until you're ready.

Worth knowing. Using super early can affect your retirement savings, and part of what you release may be taxed. It's worth speaking with a financial adviser before you apply, and SuperCare will walk you through both points.

No pressure from us. If your application is approved, you still choose if and when to go ahead. The money is yours, and so is the decision.

Payment plans

A payment plan made just for health care

MediPay focuses on one area: payment plans for medical and dental treatment. That focus makes the process feel simple, especially for bigger treatment like implants.

  • Quick to find out where you stand. A short online check tells you early if MediPay is an option, before you fill anything in properly.
  • No deposit to get started. There's nothing to pay up front to put a plan in place.
  • Paid straight to the clinic. MediPay pays us directly, so you're never the middle person moving money around.

MediPay is a credit provider. Approval, interest, fees and terms apply and are set by MediPay, not by us. You'll always have your fixed written quote first, so you know the total cost before you apply.

How fast it moves

Often sorted in a day

  1. Over a cuppa

    Apply online

The application takes about five minutes, from your phone or laptop.

  2. Usually within the hour

    Get your answer

MediPay comes back quickly, so you're not left waiting for days.

  3. When you're ready

    Book your treatment day

Once your plan is approved, we lock in your day and MediPay pays us directly.

Repayments, your way. You choose fortnightly or monthly repayments with MediPay, and you can pay it out early whenever you like.

Medicare rebates

Medicare may give some of your sedation fee back

Medicare doesn't cover implants or the dental work itself. But your sedation is given by a Medical Anaesthetist, and if you have a Medicare card, you may be able to claim a rebate on part of that fee. It's money back that a lot of people don't know about.

How it works

Finding out what you may get back

Every rebate depends on your treatment and your circumstances, so we'll go through it with you.

  1. Bring your Medicare card. That's all we need to look at what may apply to you at your consultation.
  2. See it on your quote. Your written quote lists the item numbers, so you can see what's claimable before you decide.
  3. Use it with your other options. Your Medicare rebate works alongside your health fund, super or MediPay.

The amount you get back can vary based on your treatment, any concession card and Medicare guidelines. Medicare doesn't cover the dental work itself.

Mix and match

Most people use more than one

You don't have to pick a single option. Tap the pieces below and watch how they can share one treatment cost between them.

Imagine the bar is your written quote. How could it be covered?

Popular mixes

The sizes here are just to show the idea. Your real mix depends on your cover, your super and what suits you, and we'll map it out with you at your consultation. Your total never changes with the mix. Approval, fees and terms apply to payment plans.

Talk it through

Money questions are welcome here

You don't need to have it figured out before you call. Bring every question about cost, cover and payment to your consultation, and we'll map out a way that works for you. No judgment, no pressure.

  • Fixed written quote before anything is decided
  • Every option explained in plain English
  • You decide in your own time

Yes, and most people do. A common mix is your Medicare and health fund rebates first, with a payment plan or super covering the rest. We'll map out your mix at your consultation.

With MediPay, there's no deposit needed to set up a plan. If you're paying another way, any deposit is shown clearly on your written quote before you decide anything.

MediPay is a credit provider, so an application can appear on your credit file, like any credit product. If you're unsure, it explains this during the application, before you commit to anything.

Usually a few weeks from application to the money arriving, because the ATO needs to approve it. That's why it's worth starting early. SuperCare handles the paperwork and keeps you posted.

No. Most people come in first, get their written quote, then sort out payment. Your quote is what payment plan and super applications are built on anyway.

Yes, partly. If you have Medicare, you may get a rebate on part of your sedation fee. Medicare doesn't cover implants or the dental work itself, so extras cover through a health fund and the options on this page are the usual ways to bring the rest down. We'll give you the item numbers so you can check.

It depends on your fund, your level of cover and any waiting periods. Ask us for your item numbers, and one quick call to your fund tells you exactly what you'd get back.

It's not the end of the road. Super access, a health fund rebate and paying in stages are all still open to you, and we'll quietly help you find the path that works.

Yes. MediPay lets you pay out your plan early, with no early repayment penalties.

Not here. Our treatment coordinator talks payment options through every single day, without judgment. You'll never be pushed, and you can take your quote home to decide.
