Getting here
However you travel, it’s an easy trip
Choose how you’re coming in. For your consultation you can travel any way you like. On your treatment day, someone else does the driving.
Driving in
We are inside the Chermside Health Hub on the corner of Gympie Road and Rode Road.
- Head for 621 Gympie Rd, Chermside. Google Maps will take you straight to the door.
- Park in the basement car park underneath the building. There are 180 spaces, so finding one is usually easy.
- Take the lift up to Level 2 and let reception know you’re here.
Treatment day: please don’t drive yourself in. Your support person drives you here, and home again afterwards.
Coming by bus
Gympie Road is one of Brisbane’s main bus corridors, so plenty of services pass close by.
- Plan your trip on the Translink journey planner using 621 Gympie Rd, Chermside as your destination.
- The Chermside bus interchange at Westfield Chermside is around a 10 to 15 minute walk away.
- Once you arrive, take the lift up to Level 2.
Good for your consultation. After sedation, the bus isn’t a safe way home, so plan a lift for your treatment day.
Taxi or rideshare
A simple option if you’d rather not worry about parking.
- Set your drop-off to 621 Gympie Rd, Chermside, the Chermside Health Hub.
- Take the lift up to Level 2 and let reception know you’re here.
Going home after treatment: a taxi or rideshare is only okay if your trusted adult is in the car with you.
Travelling from further away
Patients come to us from right across South East Queensland and beyond. A little planning makes the day easy.
- Chermside is on Brisbane’s northside, about 20 minutes’ drive from Brisbane Airport.
- Most patients head home the same day. If you have a long trip home, you might prefer to stay somewhere nearby the night after your treatment, with your support person.
- Tell us at your consultation where you’re travelling from, and we’ll help you plan the timing of your day.
Flying in? Please don’t book a flight home for the same day as your treatment. Give yourself the night to rest first.
Getting home
Getting home after your treatment
After sedation or a general anaesthetic most people feel sleepy for a while, and reactions take time to return to normal. So the trip home is planned before you arrive, and it comes down to three simple rules.
- 01
A trusted adult takes you home
Someone you know collects you from Level 2 when we call them, and travels home with you.
- 02
They stay with you
Your support person stays with you for the rest of the day while you rest and doze at home.
- 03
24 hours off the big jobs
For 24 hours, no driving, alcohol, cooking, using machinery or signing anything important.

Yes. The Chermside Health Hub has 180 basement car parks underneath the building, and a lift takes you straight up to our rooms on Level 2.
Only with your trusted adult in the car with you. After sedation you shouldn't travel home on your own, even in a taxi or rideshare, because you may still be drowsy and need someone to help you settle in at home.
Please tell us at your consultation, or give us a call as early as you can. We'll talk it through with you and help you work out a plan before your treatment day. We can't send you home alone after sedation, so it's best to sort this early.
Not for at least 24 hours, and only once you feel completely yourself. Your written aftercare will say what applies to you, as it can depend on your treatment.
